Market overhaul

Pak Khlong Talat, the capital’s famous flower market on the bank of the Chao Phraya is set to undergo an upgrade to attract more tourists and local consumers.

Because more and more people prefer to go shopping in modern supermarkets ahead of traditional wet markets a plan has been drawn up to reinvent the market as a modern tourist attraction.

The renovation plans include a 300-metre walkway facing the river as a new tourist attraction, similar to Asiatique the Riverfront on Charoen Krung Road.
