One the world’s most celebrated hotels, the Mandarin Oriental is rich in history and is filled with stories of the celebrated guests who have considered it a home from home over the last 130 years.
One of its first customers was Joseph Conrad, who was in Bangkok to take command of his new ship. Of the 34 luxurious suites, ten are named and styled after prominent authors who have stayed at this property, including Somerset Maugham and Noel Coward. The Author’s Wing is the original part of the hotel.
