For a trip back in time the Deck by the River is part of an exclusive boutique hotel that is located close to the Grand Palace in the old quarter of the capital.
This is situated down a small side street next to the Chao Praya and is part of the Arun Residence Hotel. The Deck, as it is locally known, offers a stunning view across the river. The restaurant has two open-air wooden decks at the front of the property facing out on to the river where guests can eat while gazing across at ancient Wat Arun which is even more impressive when it is illuminated after sunset. However, the best view is from the fourth-floor bar which is the perfect place to watch the sun come down.
